- A copy of the Business Registration Certificate (BR) issued by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) of HKSARG not registered as a Branch, i.e. name of the organisation shall be that of the head office, not a branch office, or
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of Overseas Company issued by the Company Registry (CR) of HKSARG, or
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of Non-Hong Kong Company issued by the Company Registry (CR) of HKSARG, or
- Other documentary proof required for the application of .org.hk, .edu.hk, .net.hk or .gov.hk with a letter stating the reason of selecting .com.hk.

Approved not-for-profit organisations in HKSAR. The Registrant must provide documentary proof that it falls within one of the following categories when applying to register a .org.hk, .組織.hk or .組織.香港 Domain Name:
- a. Organisations or trusts registered under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (charitable institutions or trusts of a public character)
- b. Registered not-for-profit trade unions or other unions
- c. Not-for-profit owners' corporations
- d. Not-for-profit hospitals and nursing homes
- e. Childcare centres of a non-profit nature
- f. Not-for-profit trade or industry associations or chambers
- g. Statutory bodies established by ordinance or gazette notice
- h. Government departments of the HKSAR
- i. Any other reputable not-for-profit organisation accepted by HKIRC, provided that it can demonstrate substantive non-profit operations

- a. A copy of the Tax Exemption Letter issued by the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance
- b. A copy of the Certificate of Registration for Trade Unions or other Unions
- c. A copy of the Certificate of Registration of Owners' Corporation under the Building Management Ordinance
- d. A copy of the Registration of a Hospital / Nursing Home (under Section 88 of the Inland Revenue Ordinance)
- e. A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a Child Care Centre, and a letter issued by the applicant declaring the centre is of a not-for-profit nature
- f. A copy of the Business Registration Certificate, or a copy of the Certificate of Incorporation together with the Memorandum and Articles of Association (or the Articles of Association under the New Companies Ordinance, effective 3 Mar 2014), showing that the company is Limited By Guarantee
- g. A copy of the ordinance/gazette establishing the organisation, and a duly signed Application Letter (with organisational chop) issued by the organisation
- h. A duly signed Application Letter (with the Government department's chop) issued by a Government Department of the HKSAR
- i. Other valid document proving the not-for-profit nature of the organisation, subject to HKIRC's acceptance

- A copy of the Certificate of a School issued by Education Bureau of HKSARG together with an application letter issued by your school, or
- A copy of the Ordinance showing that your institute is established by law together with an application letter issued by your institute, or
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a course issued by Education Bureau of HKSARG, or
- A copy of the Certificate of Registration of a Child Care Centre (for Nurseries Running Educare Services or Pre-Primary Curriculum for Children between 2 to 6 years old), or
- A copy of the Certificate of Education (for Nurseries Running Educare Services or Pre-Primary Curriculum for Children between 2 to 6 years old)
- A copy of the Certificate of Incorporated Management Committee of the school under Education Ordinance

Entities managing network infrastructure, machines and services with a licence from the Office of the Communications Authority of the HKSARG |
- A copy of the PNETS (IVANS / ISP) licence issued by the Office of the Communications Authority of the Government of the HKSAR, or
- A copy of the PNETS Fixed Telecommunication Network Services (FTNS) / Fixed Carrier Licence issued by the Office of the Communications Authority of the Government of the HKSAR, or
- A copy of the Services-Based Operator ("SBO") Licence of a type of "Class 3" issued by the Office of the Communications Authority of the Government of the HKSAR indicating that the licensee is managing network infrastructure, machines and services.

Note
Any .org.hk / .組織.hk / .組織.香港 domain name registered under the previous eligibility requirements (Registration Policy Version 1.3) before 5 Oct 2026 will not be affected by this change. Approval or registration of a domain name does not constitute a representation, warranty or determination by HKIRC that the registrant satisfies, or continues to satisfy, the applicable eligibility requirements. HKIRC reserves the right to verify eligibility at any time and to take appropriate action in accordance with its policies.
